About

My name’s Alex Brooks. I am the founder and Chief Practitioner at ActiveBody Therapy Clinic.

Over the years I have enjoyed a great many sports, from football and cricket to tennis and Thai boxing. I also now compete in cross-country mountain biking.

As you might expect, I’ve had a lot of injuries during this time – some major, some minor and some that wouldn’t go away. And identifying the root cause of these issues has been vital both in optimising my ability to compete and in keeping my everyday life free of pain.

As an active man with a profound interest in bodily performance, I was keen to pursue a career in precisely the kind of treatments that had proven so valuable to me – so in 2011, I left my previous career as a Laboratory Technician to do exactly that.

I qualified in Soft Tissue Therapy at the London School of Sports Massage in 2012 and have been practising from my home town of Saffron Walden ever since. In 2019 I did a weekend intensive course in Osteopathic Articulation and the OMT, London, which is designed to improve range of movement through joints. This is an invaluable addition to my skills.

Business has gone well. Established clients have kept coming; new clients have continued to seek my help; and I have forged a reputation as an empathetic and fastidious professional who cares deeply about improving the lives of the people I treat.

Today, I am proud to operate from my own dedicated clinic. Opened in January 2019, it comprises not just two purpose-built treatment rooms but also a fully equipped gym for movement analysis and rehabilitation work.
